Stamford's Center for Robotic Surgery
Our Center for Robotic Surgery gives our surgeons an even more advanced level of technology - the da Vinci Surgical System. Although incisions can be as small as 1-2 cm, our surgeons can operate with greater precision and control than ever before. Surgical Oncology
Stamford Hospital is the only institution in the area providing specialist care in surgical oncology. Surgical Oncologists are general surgeons with additional fellowship training and expertise in the combined treatment of cancer. We employ chemotherapy, radiation, and targeted biologic treatments for unusual cancers in addition to breast and colon cancer. Surgical oncologists also perform advanced procedures to treat malignancies such as multi-organ resections, minimally invasive tumor ablations for liver cancers, tumor debulking with HIPEC , with our radiation therapy department, and robotic surgery for foregut surgery. Surgical Oncologists also represent the American College of Surgeons as Cancer liaisons ensuring ACS Cancer Center Certification and promoting the highest level of cancer care.
