Our surgical nurses receive ongoing training and are encouraged to pursue continuing and higher education levels to meet their own professional goals.

In August of 2005 Stamford Hospital was named a recipient of the Magnet™ Award of Excellence in Nursing Services by the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC). This award represents the highest honor a hospital's nursing program can achieve. Fewer than 3% of the nation's hospitals qualify for Magnet™ nursing designation. Stamford Hospital is the only hospital in Fairfield County to attain this status - and one of only three Magnet™ hospitals in the State of Connecticut.
